Wooden frame enhanced with a thin decorative frieze in plaster and painted in gold.

Life scene of a woman resting in a garden in a very lascivious and suggestive attitude. It is part of a series of 4 gouaches painted in 1753 "Les Heures du Jour": "Le Matin", "Le Midi", "Le Soir" and "La Nuit".

If Pierre-Antoine Baudouin (1723-1769) is a painter and draftsman of libertine scenes, he is also considered one of Fragonard's masters with whom he even shared a studio until his sudden death.
