Inspired by one of the many illustrations produced by the prolific Honoré Daumier. The scene captures the very majestic attitude of a lawyer descending the stairs. Dates from the very beginning of the 20th century. The wooden frame is more recent, around 1940.

A similar print is present at the Carnavalet Museum in Paris.

In good condition apart from a few scratches on the frame.

Dimensions of the drawing only: height of 37 cm and width of 27 cm.
