Set of 5 speaking dessert plates Les Vocations by Digoin and Sarreguemines
Very fashionable at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, talking plates were useful and also distracting with their different scenes from one drawing to another.
The black monochrome design is in the background. The edge of the plate is in blue relief and imitates woven wicker.
Here, a child is put in a situation and the adults around him conclude about his future profession: sailor, criminal, musician, doctor and architect.
